General Purpose Shipping Containers For Sale, Hire or Finance

The most well-known and recognized containers in use today are general purpose shipping containers. They’re robust, watertight, and highly durable, and they’re used to move commodities and cargo by sea and land. They’re made of strong Corten steel with reinforced corners to allow stacking up to eight containers high on the open decks of a ship on extended voyages around the world, and they’re engineered to withstand the worst that nature has to offer.

We have a large selection of new and secondhand shipping containers at Podular Shipping Containers. Our general purpose shipping containers are available in 10-foot, 20-foot, and 40-foot sizes, with double doors that open to a full 270° as standard. We can also add shelves, doors, air vents, windows, air conditioning, restrooms, and other features to cargo containers as needed.

Used Shipping Containers

Over the years, general purpose shipping containers have been employed for a variety of applications. Used shipping containers are typically far more traveled than the folks that own them! As a result, at Port, we sell a variety of old containers (all in good condition) for a very low price.

New or ‘One Trip’ Containers

The term “new” in the container industry is sometimes a misnomer, as many “new” shipping containers have already been used for at least one voyage, usually for commodities that require a thoroughly clean environment. Our general purpose shipping containers, on the other hand, are not subjected to the rigors of sea conditions, nor to the constant loading and unloading at various ports and destinations, so they are always in excellent condition, with all of them freshly painted inside and out to prevent the steel from corroding.

Customising Your Containers

Podular can personalize containers by adding accessories such as whirly birds and air vents, for example, to guarantee that each container has appropriate air flow. We also have a large selection of accessories from which you can customize your product to meet your specific needs. You can customize as little as shelving, paint, and a lockbox, or as much as you like (bathroom, kitchen, and laundry). Port has one of Australia’s largest container modification facilities, allowing us to customize shipping containers to your exact specifications.
